Illinois based company founded by Andrew Filipowski in 1987. With many acquisitions, became the eighth largest global software company in the world with revenues of one billion dollars per year.
Acquired by Computer Associates in 1999 for US$3.5 billions, at the time the largest such transaction in the software industry. After this acquisition, Computer Associates were required to sell some Platinum Technologies products, including Zeke, Zara, Zack, Zebb and CCC/Life Cycle Manager. These products were acquired by ASG.
