Advanced Communications Function/Network Control Program (ACF/NCP). Operating system for mainframe communications controllers (or front end processor, or FEP) such as the 3705, 3725, 3745, 3746 and Communication Controller for Linux. Initially developed in the 1970s.
Installed onto mainframe operating systems, and loaded into the communication controllers using mainframe commands. Requires ACF/SSP product to generate definitions for networking (ie an NCP Generation), and to load the NCP program itself into the communication controller.
