Enable Binary Synchronous Communication (BSC) and start-stop devices (such as terminals and printers) to communicate with mainframe applications using a communication controller (or front end processor, or FEP) such as the 3705, 3725, 3745 and 3746. Software is installed on mainframe systems, and loaded into a communication controller. Example applications include CICS/BTAM and JES/RTAM.
