Multi-platform software to translate transaction data. Can be used to translate transaction data to conform to stanards such as EDI, HIPAA or SAS IDOC. Transaction data can be from files, databases, applications, middleware such as Websphere MQ or other data sources. Functionality includes transaction routing to one or more destinations.

Originally released as Mercator by Mercator Software. Acquired by Ascential from its acquisition of Mercator in 2003, and renamed to DataStage TX. Acquired by IBM from its acquisiton of Ascential in 2005. Renamed to Websphere Transformation Extender in 2006, and IBM Transformation Extender in 2016.
