Detail:

Windows and browser based emulator for TN3270, TN5250 (System i / AS/400), and VT*. 

Originally developed in 1984 by Pierre Goyette as a class project for McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Rewritten as Net3270 by Goyette for the university, then TCP3270 as it acquired TCP/IP connectivity. 

Acquired by Hummingbird in 1997 for $6.3 million from McGill University and Goyette's company PolarSoft, who jointly owned the rights. Renamed to HostExplorer. Acquired by Rocket Software from its acquisition of OpenText's Application Modernization and Connectivity (AMC) business in 2024.
