Windows and browser based emulator for TN3270, TN5250 (System i / AS/400), and VT*.
Originally developed in 1984 by Pierre Goyette as a class project for McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Rewritten as Net3270 by Goyette for the university, then TCP3270 as it acquired TCP/IP connectivity.
Acquired by Hummingbird in 1997 for $6.3 million from McGill University and Goyette's company PolarSoft, who jointly owned the rights. Renamed to HostExplorer.
