Plano, Texas baased multinational technology company. Formed in 1962 by Ross Perot. Purchased by General Motors in 1984 for US$2.5 billion. Spun-off as a separate company by General Motors in 1996. Acquired again by HP in 2008for US$19.6 billion. At that time, EDS employed 139,000 people worldwide.
